Sleep Control is an Indie Progressive band based out of Raleigh, NC. The band has been together in various incarnations since 2006. Major influences include Radiohead, Deftones, The Verve, Silverchair, Tom Waits, Helmet, and pretty much all 80's and 90's dirty grungy awesomess. Frontman, James Forgey, started as a singer/songwriter playing acoustic in dirty college bars across the south until finding drummer Dave Marzetti in 2006. Since then he has explored the larger spectrum of sounds and styles that had influenced him all along. James has also been a featured songwriter for several films including indie success The 27 Club, which he co-starred in with actor Joe Anderson (Across the Universe, The Crazies). Bass player Sam Branstetter, originally from Idaho, Started playing music at age 13. Sam played in several bands before eventually moving to North Carolina and joining Sleep Control in late 2009. Influenced by blues, metal, progressive, rock and roll, and funk, Sam has brought a great sound to the band. Last but not least, drummer Dave Marzetti has developed a love of orchestration and composition from his time spent in his school’s marching and orchestral bands. Dave has grown as a musician drawing influence from a wide variety of genres.
